Adler Mannheim came back from two goals down to beat Boxers de Bordeaux 5-4 in regulation, settling it with an unassisted-in-the-record-book goal at 58 minutes. Four unanswered goals in the first period were the foundation of the win.
Bordeaux led 2-0 inside seven minutes through Tommy Giroux (Yvan Mongo) and Luke Santerno (Kaylian Leborgne), before Mannheim flipped the period entirely: Matthias Plachta (John Gilmour) at 8, Patrick Brown at 9, Anthony Greco at 12 and Jeremie Poirier (Luke Esposito) at 17 for 2-4 after 20. Baptiste Bruche pulled one back at 22 for 3-4, then tied it at 46, but Mannheim answered at 58.
Bruche was the standout for the hosts with both of their goals after the first intermission, the only multi-goal scorer in the game. Mannheim spread it out — five different scorers, none repeating — and never trailed again after the 12th minute.
