São Paulo progressed to the quarter-finals of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana with a 3-1 home win over Bolívar. Luciano's early goal put them in front, but Bolívar pulled level before two quick goals settled the tie.
Luciano scored from Danielzinho's assist in the 18th minute to open the match. Dairon Asprilla equalised for Bolívar in the 61st with an assist from Patricio Rodríguez, but Jonathan Calleri restored São Paulo's lead in the 68th. Sabino added a third in the 76th, assisted by Artur.
São Paulo's finishing made the difference. They had 12 shots to Bolívar's five, created five big chances to none, and posted an expected-goals figure of 1.73 against 0.13 for the visitors. Bolívar matched them in possession at 50% each but rarely threatened São Paulo's goal.
