Newell's Old Boys and Boca Juniors shared a 2-2 draw in the Superliga after a lively second half. Boca led through Santiago Ascacíbar's early strike, but Newell's turned the game around with two goals in nine minutes before Alan Velasco rescued a point for the visitors.
Ascacíbar put Boca ahead on 30 minutes, and they held that lead until Matías Cóccaro equalised for Newell's on 50. Luca Regiardo then completed the turnaround on 59, only for Velasco to level again with nine minutes left after good work from Tomás Aranda.
Boca dominated the statistics, enjoying 60% possession, firing 16 shots to Newell's nine and creating five big chances, four of which were missed. The hosts' goalkeeper made two saves, while Newell's, with just two shots on target, had led 2-1 and came closest to a win until that late equaliser.
