Boca Juniors produced a dominant away performance to beat Deportivo Recoleta 4-0 in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana Round of 16. Four different scorers did the damage, with the visitors ahead by two goals before half-time and never threatened after that.
Santiago Ascacíbar opened the scoring on 30 minutes, and Sebastián Villa doubled the lead in the 43rd. Miguel Merentiel added a third seven minutes after the restart, with Milton Delgado supplying the assist, before Alan Velasco rounded off the win from Kevin Zenón's pass on 77.
The scoreline was backed up by the underlying numbers: Boca had 17 shots to Recoleta's 11 and an expected-goals total of 2.76 against 0.97. Despite the home side seeing 53% of the ball, they missed all three of their big chances, while Boca converted three of their four and put ten shots on target.
