Blanch D. beat Jan Chlodnicki 6-2, 6-0 in Szczecin, taking control on return and never letting go. He broke in the opening game of both sets and finished with seven breaks in total, while Chlodnicki managed only one.
Blanch broke immediately at 1-0 in the first set, was pegged back straight away at 1-1, then broke again at 2-1 and at 4-1 to close it out 6-2. The second set was one-way traffic: breaks at 1-0, 3-0 and 5-0 gave him a 6-0 shutout, with Chlodnicki winning just one of his four service games across the match.
The decisive number was the break-point column: Blanch saved four of five (80%) while Chlodnicki saved only one of four (25%).
