Blackpool advanced with a 3-1 win at Grimsby Town, taking control early through Niall Ennis and never really letting go. The visitors led inside three minutes and doubled their advantage before the hour.
Ennis opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, and Josh Bowler made it 2-0 in the 58th. Grimsby pulled one back through Harvey Rodgers in the 90th minute, but Kylian Kouassi immediately restored Blackpool's two-goal cushion.
Grimsby had more shots, more efforts on target and won 13 corners to four, yet still lost. Blackpool's goalkeeper made seven saves, and with three goals from four shots on target, their finishing proved decisive.
