Belgrano beat Independiente Rivadavia 2-0 in the Superliga, taking the lead just before half-time and doubling it within a minute of the restart. The result owed much to their clinical finishing against a side that had plenty of the ball but could not find a way through.
Tomas Bottari opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, and Emiliano Rigoni struck in the 46th to put the match beyond reach. Independiente Rivadavia pushed forward afterwards but managed only one shot on target, while the game also featured five yellow cards.
Belgrano had 11 shots to their opponents' 9 and three on target to one, but their expected goals figure of 0.63 shows they did not carve out a host of clear chances. They did, however, take the two that mattered, while Independiente Rivadavia, despite 51% possession, could not convert their territory into goals.
