Baez S. defeated Wong C. 6-4, 6-0 at the Cancun Men Singles, closing out the match with a bagel second set. The decisive shift came after a close opening set, as Baez broke three times and never faced a break point.
The first set was decided by a lone break at 5-4 in Baez's favour, after which he served out the set. Wong then unravelled: Baez broke in game 1, game 3 and game 5 of the second set, at 1-0, 3-0 and 5-0, to seal a 6-0 rout.
Baez won 48 points to Wong's 37 and never faced a break point across the match. Wong's seven aces and 28 service points won could not prevent the straight-sets defeat.
