Andrey Rublev swept past Sebastian Baez 6-1, 6-2 to reach the Bastad quarterfinals, dominating on serve and breaking four times. The Russian did not face a single break point in the opening set and saved the only one he faced all match, while Baez went 0-for-8 on his break opportunities.
Rublev raced to a 2-0 lead in the first set with an early break, then broke again at 5-1 to seal it. In the second, he broke for 2-1 and again at 5-2, winning 14 of his 17 second-serve points overall (82%) and never allowing Baez to build momentum.
Rublev won all seven of his service games, fired five aces without a double fault, and won 76% of his first-serve points (19/25). Baez, by contrast, won just 50% of his first serves (14/28) and could not convert any of his eight break chances, losing serve in four of seven games.
