Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-5 in straight sets in Cincinnati, powered by a dominant serving display and sharper returning. The Canadian converted four break points, saved two of the four he faced and won 65 points to Tsitsipas's 44.
Auger-Aliassime seized the first set by breaking in game two for 0-2 and holding on for 6-3. The second set swung repeatedly: he broke for 0-1, Tsitsipas replied immediately for 1-1, and Auger-Aliassime moved ahead again at 2-3. Tsitsipas levelled at 5-5 when his opponent served for the match, but Auger-Aliassime broke straight back at 5-6 and served out the win.
The decisive edge came on serve: Auger-Aliassime won 76% of first-serve points and 61% on his second, while Tsitsipas managed 64% and 30% respectively. Tsitsipas saved none of the four break points he faced.
