Atmane took the opener 6-4, breaking twice while Khachanov could manage only a single break. The second set went the other way: neither man converted a break point, and the match was decided in a tie-break, which Atmane edged 7-6.
The standout difference was Atmane's first serve: he landed 65% compared to Khachanov's 45% and won 75% of points behind it. He also saved two of the three break points he faced, enough to keep Khachanov from finding a way back.
