Manuel Capasso opened the scoring after two minutes, only for Juan Brunetta to equalise for Tigres on 21. The game turned when Juan Sánchez Purata was sent off on 70, and Luís Esteves struck nine minutes later to snatch the win.
Tigres controlled the contest with 54% possession and 22 shots to Atlas's eight, with an expected goals figure of 1.79 to 0.66. But the Atlas goalkeeper made seven saves and the home side converted their one big chance, while Tigres missed theirs.
