Crivellaro came from a set down to beat Arnaboldi 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 in the Todi men's singles, taking the decider in a tie-break. He converted four of eight break points, saved five of eight, and won the return battle 41 points to 35.
Arnaboldi made the early running, breaking in game 1 and again at 2-3 and 2-5 to take the first set 6-3. Crivellaro then took control in the second, breaking in games 1, 3 and 5 before closing it out 6-1. The final set swung repeatedly: after breaks through the early games, Crivellaro broke at 5-5, Arnaboldi hit back at 5-6, and Crivellaro held at 6-6 before winning the tie-break.
Crivellaro's first serve was the standout weapon — he won 74% of points behind it for the match and 12 of 13 points on first serve in the second set. Arnaboldi had more aces, eight to six, and won 57 service points to 56, but could not convert that edge into the decisive return points.
