Hamza Čataković put AEL ahead in the 42nd minute, and Yannick Gomis doubled the advantage five minutes after the restart. The match also saw a red card for Yoëll van Nieff in the 72nd minute, with Andreas Chrysostomou, Cafú and Sérgio Conceição booked.
