Anisimova came from a set down to beat Eala 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in Cincinnati, producing a strong return display and closing out the decider with authority. She converted four breaks in all and took the final set 6-2.
Eala edged a tight opener 6-4 after Anisimova broke in game 7, hitting back in game 8 and breaking again in game 10. Anisimova's sole break in game 7 of the second set levelled the match, and in the third she responded to Eala's 2-0 start by breaking straight back in game 3 and adding breaks in games 5 and 7.
The key number came on serve: Eala saved 9 of 10 break points in the first set, but Anisimova won 88% of first-serve points in the second set and finished with four breaks to three.
