Lassina Diakité put Amiens ahead on 58 minutes, and Mathis Colin doubled the lead three minutes later, with Ely Julien providing the assist. Zourab Sopromadze added the third in the 90th minute to round off the scoring. The match also featured five yellow cards, the first shown to Dan Sinaté after 19 minutes.
Amiens relied on three different scorers rather than one dominant figure, with Diakité's opener proving the key moment after a tight opening hour. Versailles had contained Amiens before that but could not respond once the first goal went in.
