Al-Mokawloon took all three points with a 1-0 win at El Gouna, even though the home side controlled the ball for most of the match. Mostafa Gamal scored the only goal in the 44th minute to give the visitors a slender lead at the break.
El Gouna dominated after the interval, pushing for an equaliser, but their pressure did not produce the goal they needed. Gamal's strike was the decisive moment, and Al-Mokawloon's defence held firm. Shady Hussein and Idrissa Thiam were booked in the second half as the visitors saw out the result.
The numbers show how unusual the outcome was: El Gouna had 65% possession, 383 accurate passes and 20 shots, yet only two of those efforts were on target. Al-Mokawloon had 35% possession and 13 shots but put five on target, created the only big chance and took it, and finished with a higher expected-goals total of 1.61 to 1.14.
