Randers FC beat AGF 2-1 in the Superliga, taking the lead with two first-half goals and holding on despite AGF's dominance in possession and shots. AGF's response came only after the hour mark, and a red card in the final ten minutes ended any real hope of an equaliser.
Elies Mahmoud opened the scoring on 21 minutes, converting Mike Themsen's assist. Themsen made it 2-0 seven minutes later, finishing from Kasper Junker's pass. Janni Serra pulled one back for AGF on 63 minutes, assisted by Sebastian Jørgensen, but Randers' defence kept the lead intact for the remaining half-hour.
AGF controlled the stats throughout: 59% possession, 17 shots to Randers' 7, and a higher expected goals figure (1.68 to 0.76), yet they left with nothing. Axel Henriksson was sent off on 79 minutes, leaving AGF with ten men. Mike Themsen stood out with a goal and an assist in a clinical Randers display.
