SKA St. Petersburg edged Admiral Vladivostok 6-5 in a shootout after the teams traded ten goals through 60 minutes and produced nothing in overtime. A scoreless extra period meant the skills competition settled it, with SKA taking the shootout 1-0.
Admiral led 2-1 after the first, with Vladislav Tsitsyura scoring inside the opening minute off a Dmitry Zavgorodniy feed and Anthony Camara making it 1-2 at the 19th. SKA flipped it in a frantic middle period — Sergei Plotnikov tied it at 29, Zavgorodniy answered at 30, and Nikolay Goldobin struck at 31 and 34 for a 4-3 lead. Ivan Yanchenko leveled at 43, Plotnikov pushed SKA back ahead at 47, and Camara's second, from Mario Grman at 57, forced overtime at 5-5.
Goldobin finished with two goals and an assist, Plotnikov with two goals and an assist, and the pair combined on SKA's 4-3 goal. Yegor Savikov assisted on two of the five SKA regulation goals; Camara's two were Admiral's only multi-goal effort.
