Tromsø IL thumped Aalesunds FK 6-2 in the Eliteserien. David Edvardsson opened the scoring after nine minutes and, after Aalesund had levelled, Tromsø struck twice early in the second half to take control. Alexander Thongla-Iad Warneryd was the game's defining player with a hat-trick.
Edvardsson's ninth-minute goal was cancelled out by Isak Vadebu in the 42nd minute. Warneryd restored the lead two minutes after the restart, doubled it in the 54th, and after Endre Hjertager Osenbroch pulled one back for Aalesund in the 59th, Warneryd answered again in the 69th. Heine Asen Larsen made it 5-2 in the 81st minute and Tromsø added a sixth in the 90th.
Aalesund had 54% possession and 22 shots, but only three of those attempts were on target. Tromsø had 12 shots, six on target, and scored all four of their big chances. The home side posted an expected-goals figure of 2.58 yet still lost, while Warneryd's three goals settled the contest.
