Zoma opened the scoring in the 9th minute, converting after Finn Ole Becker provided the assist, then struck again on the stroke of half-time to make it 2-0. He completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute. Thomas Keller and Simon Straudi were both booked late on, in the 73rd and 74th minutes respectively.
The numbers underlined Nürnberg's control: they had 56% possession, 16 total shots to Dresden's nine, and seven shots on target to one. They also led on expected goals, 2.14 to 1.23, leaving Dresden with little to show for their efforts.
